Nobody till now had dared to dance to the voice of Oum Kalsoum, the mythical Egyptian singer. Leila Haddad, great priestess of Oriental dance, has chosen to pay her a tribute with this hypnotic dance inspired by a poem, "Zikrayat", written by Ahmed Rami for the diva. Drawing from the very source of immemorial sacred dances, her choreography for ten dancers will undulate between subtle plays of shadows, pure and skilful movements merging with the voice curls of the Star of the East. Her struggle? Imposing Oriental dance as a major art, removing "Belly Dance" from cheap cabaret folklore where it remained underrated and despised. With her queenly bearing, the beautiful Tunisian has all the audacities, including that of disrupting rules by persisting to perform only on theatre stages. No need to embark to Cairo! Leila Haddad Company invites you to track down "Tarab" (a state of trance and ecstasy) in the magnificent Trianon Theatre. This is something no to be refused
